S G iron is not a single material but it’s a part of group of different materials produced a range of properties. The common characters of this group is the graphite shape. In Sg irons, the form of graphite is in the form of nodules rather than flakes as it is in grey iron. The shape of flakes of graphite or nodules of graphite, both have less concentration points. Hence, inhibits the creation of cracks and enhances the ductility characteristics which gives the alloy.
